Andrés Valdebenito
"Hi, my name is Andrés Valdebenito, I'm 25 years old. I can describe the experience of the Work and Travel Program as spectacular. I had an incredibly good time; not only did I get to know the city where I worked, but I also traveled to other cities. On the other hand, I feel that I matured a lot, in the sense of appreciating what I have and being more responsible with my obligations, as the job requires sticking to a schedule and having a good attitude. My self-financing depended on it, as you need a source of income that allows you to move without problems.
You also get to meet a lot of people from South America (Argentina, Brazil, Peru) who, like me, were living the experience. We go in search of having a good time, getting to know each other, and the best part is that the entire trip or a large part of it is self-financed by working.
Silver Legacy Casino, located in the city of Reno in the state of Nevada, was the place where I worked, performing tasks as a host, cashier, busperson, and stocker, the latter in a restaurant that was open to the public 24 hours a day. I also worked as a waiter at events with a catering service that belongs to the Silver Legacy.
Personally, I recommend this type of experience to other people who are looking to live a different life experience, where they have to live with people from other countries and different customs than I know.
Additionally, I must thank XPA as they were really helpful in clarifying all my doubts, allowing me to make correct decisions in the processing of documents, the trip, and the stay. I recommend it as an exchange agency."
