Area Description — Dublin and Swords

Dublin is Ireland’s lively capital, combining historic architecture, an international population and an active cultural and social scene. Work & Travel participants can explore Trinity College, Dublin Castle, St. Stephen’s Green, the River Liffey, Temple Bar and museums while meeting people from Ireland and around the world.

The city also offers live music, pubs, sporting events, coastal villages and extensive shopping and dining options. On days off, students can visit Howth, Malahide Castle, Bray, the Wicklow Mountains or take trips to other parts of Ireland.

Dublin Airport is located north of the city, close to Swords. Swords offers supermarkets, shopping centres, restaurants and generally shorter airport commutes, while living in central Dublin provides more nightlife and cultural activities but may involve higher rent and longer travel times.
