Public salary information from August 2026 reported averages of €14.34 per hour for Centra Sales Assistants and €14.30 per hour for Deli Assistants. Recent Dublin-area deli listings advertised up to €16.00 per hour and between 20 and 40 weekly hours.

Because Ireland’s adult minimum wage is scheduled to increase to €14.94 per hour on January 1, 2027, that figure is used as the minimum estimated rate for a 2027 placement. The final wage, schedule and possible premium rates must be confirmed in the employment offer.

Cashier / Sales Assistant

Main duties

  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, efficient service.
  • Scan products and operate the cash register.
  • Process cash, card and mobile payments accurately.
  • Provide receipts and follow cash-handling procedures.
  • Answer questions about products, prices and promotions.
  • Restock shelves, refrigerators and promotional displays.
  • Check product dates and rotate stock.
  • Maintain clean checkout and customer areas.
  • Assist with deliveries and general store operations.
  • Follow security, health and safety procedures.

Deli Assistant

Main duties

  • Prepare sandwiches, rolls, hot meals and cold deli products.
  • Take customer orders and provide recommendations.
  • Portion, package, label and display food.
  • Cook and replenish products throughout the day.
  • Maintain attractive and fully stocked counter displays.
  • Monitor freshness and follow portion-control procedures.
  • Clean counters, utensils and food-preparation equipment.
  • Follow HACCP, food-safety and allergen-control procedures.
  • Respond professionally to customer questions.

Schedule

  • Full-time employees can generally expect approximately 35–40 hours per week.
